Methodology
For each athlete who competed in both NorAm/FIS events and divisional events this season, we compute:
- NorAm Baseline: Median of their clean NorAm mogul run scores (scores ≥ min threshold to exclude crashes)
- Divisional Score: Median of their clean divisional mogul run scores, grouped by host division
- Delta:
Divisional Median − NorAm Median— positive means the athlete scored higher in divisional events
We use medians and trimmed means (dropping top/bottom 10%) to limit the impact of outlier runs (crashes, exceptional performances). A consistently positive delta for a division suggests scoring inflation relative to the FIS standard.
Scoring Bias by Division
Median score delta (divisional − NorAm) for athletes competing in each division's events. Higher values indicate more score inflation relative to FIS-level judging.
